Designing and implementing a national consultation on cultural research & policy in Canada
Client: Mass Culture / Mobilisation culturelle
Mass Culture is an initiative exploring new community-led ways to guide cultural research and cultural policy in Canada. The “Gatherings” are Mass Culture’s first public activity, supported by Toronto Arts Council’s Open Door funding program. A Mass Culture Gathering is first and foremost an informal conversation amongst peers about cultural research needs, from which deep insights, common concerns and ideas for moving forward can emerge.
Designing and implementing a national consultation in the form of a series of conversations across the country, each focussing on a particular research question.
Creating a Toolkit, supporting Hosts and Facilitators nationwide, overseeing all budgetary and logistics elements.
The first Gathering took place on May 2, and they should go on until the end of 2018. Insights from each conversation are summarised then shared on the Mass Culture website. They will form the basis for the future development of Mass Culture.
